Reviews
This store was always decent but I’d rather go to Ralphs or Amazon Fresh since this one felt like it needed a solid renovation. And now it’s closing. Rip Irvine Blvd Albertsons, you were neglected and now are being beaten down the rest of the way.
Really miss Maria G, she was a shining spot at the checkouts. Cashier's are friendly but the cart and stockers are not. Almost like you're in their way. I empathize as it has been a long haul during the pandemic. The "cleaning crew" are very chatty and friendly. Appreciate them!
There’s a good chance that if you’ve shopped here that you’ve been ripped off. I once happened to notice a price error of a few dollars on a single item. From then on I’ve checked carefully every time if the prices were accurate. What did I notice? Wrong prices every few visits. I don’t always have the time or patience to wait in line again to get a few dollars back so I leave but this should be illegal. The principle of the matter really bothers me.
Today I went back to show the cashier of an error. First of all, no one was working the customer service and I was directed to the regular line up. No apologies and he just seemed inconvenienced. A few dollars here and there for each customer X tens of thousands of customers really helps their bottom line. I’ve NEVER had a price error that was lower than what was listed.
The butcher was very friendly and remembered my order request over the phone when I came to greet him. He gave me a nice cut of marbled chuck roast which the cashier complimented. The market itself is also kept clean and organized with everything that I needed. Will be coming back in the future for any butchering I need done.
Your neighborhood grocery supermarket is more popular than Vons somewhat nearby. Why? It's been in the area the longest, tad bit lower on cost, and is usually well stocked with a variety of the goods. Where it definitely needs improvement is in the checkout lines and the number of cash register staff available.
This review is regarding the bakery, not the store itself. I personally love Albertsons, it is pricey but we know that going there.
We ordered a cake for our deceased daughter's birthday/anniversary (we have made it a tradition with our other kids to celebrate her little life) and it did not have ther correct filling. Of course, I was upset as I am very sensitive on this day. I called to let them know and was told, "Sorry, we'll take care of you next time you come in." I will never order a cake from here again.
On Sunday, the deli's yummy mango habanero chicken was ready for purchase when I dropped by at 9:45 am, so was able to immediately buy it and take it for an outdoor lunch. Not too spicy, just enough kick!
This supermarket has the best management in the area, by a wide margin. The employees are friendly and helpful, but always busy. Cleanliness is well above average. Produce selection is very good, meat selection is the best in the area. Overall prices are much better here than at the local Ralphs or Sprouts, and some sale items are even competitive with Costco. There is less overall selection here than the local Ralphs, but the prices, employees and management are FAR better here. The produce prices are slightly better at Sprout's, but again, the staff and management here are FAR better. They have experienced some changes and disruption due to the ongoing merger with Safeway, but the outstanding store management continues to run things smoothly.
This Albertson's is the cleanest grocery store I have ever stepped into.
"I actually thought this store was a front for money laundering"
Seriously though, the clerk that I spoke to, if I remember correctly, Sterling was his name, was so helpful and knowledgeable this store is a real gem. I would not shop anywhere else.
Great butcher...nice produce...a little slow to check out
